Age of Rust Dev Update #10

Greetings fellow future dwellers for another Age of Rust developers update. Thanks to all our community followers, supporters, and crypto enthusiasts out there in the blockchain gaming world.

If I learned one thing in 2020, it’s that building a universe takes a lot longer than I thought it did, building a game for high def, even longer. As a solo developer on a blockchain game using next generation tools, it’s a challenging project to bring to fruition with all the different skill sets required to make it happen. However, progress continues towards getting the beta released as well as the first season of the game out by December.

The Beta will be out soon and will contain the first mission of Season 1. Really pushing to get that out in the next few weeks. The first season will have 3 missions for the player with a variety of puzzles and rewards for those that are looking to search for the hidden crypto treasures in the game.

I’ve added a lot more into the Beta than what as in the Alpha, including things like smaller challenge mini games that add to the tense action and mystery of the Age of Rust experience. Players that own the nanobot token will be able to lock pick some doors and access things that other players won’t be able to, but they’ll have to try their hand at the challenging mechanic of lock picking.

I’ve put some time and effort into character design tools for creating better looking AAA-style NPC characters for the game. I’ve also enlisted great voice-over talent to do the voice acting for several of the characters for the game. Even though this is an indiegame made by me, I want players to feel like there’s more depth to the Age of Rust universe by using the same AAA tools that larger studios use.

Okay, okay, enough of the tech stuff, I’m sure you’re interested in some of the reward stuff that Age of Rust has to offer.

Treasures in Season 1

When Season 1 drops, it will have the continuation of the treasure hunt that was in our text adventure that some of you may have been familiar with. This was the 4 Bitcoin prize that has now moved to the 3D version of the game.

Also in Season 1 will be 3 of the CryptoSkull Keys, each one of these keys has 10,000 Enjin coins inside of it. It also acts as the same as a LastLight gold card as well, opening up the rest of the reward levels if you’re lucky to find one.

Accepted into Steam

The game has also been accepted into Steam as well, this was a year and a half in the workings. They didn’t seem to dig on blockchain games at all, but they may have had a change of heart recently by accepting Age of Rust. We don’t have the steam page for the game up yet, so keep an eye out on our Twitter or Discord for this when it pops up.

If you were lucky enough to get in on the Enjin Merchandise Store and scooped up an Age of Rust hoodie…. Yes, you’ll be getting a free JetBike token for Season 2.
